On March 16, 2025, the Chinese Medicine Industry Council of Australia held a professional development and continuing education course.
The lecture featured Dr. Sherman Gu, who provided an overview of Australia’s regulatory policies on Chinese medicine. Dr. Grace Tam discussed various aspects of complaint handling by the Chinese Medicine Board of Australia. Professor Li Chunguang introduced Australia’s participation in the international standardization of Chinese medicine and its future prospects.
A special highlight was the presentation by Associate Professor Liang Yongshu from Guangdong Food and Drug Vocational and Technical College, who provided a detailed analysis of commonly confused Chinese herbal decoction pieces. He examined their shape, color, aroma, taste, and texture, emphasizing key identification points.
Members gained valuable insights, which had a significant impact on clinical practice and prescription preparation. The session was highly beneficial in enhancing quality control, clinical safety, and efficacy. Many participants expressed their hope for more practical lectures of this kind in the future.
